Events Editor 🎪

Events Editor Dialog

The Events Editor allows you to configure which game events viewers can purchase to influence your colony's story. Control raid frequencies, disease outbreaks, quests, and other incidents with custom pricing and karma settings! ⚡


Interface Overview 🔍

Header Section

  • Search Bar 🔍 - Filter events by name, description, or mod source
  • Sort Buttons 📊 - Organize events by Name, Cost, or Karma Type
  • Action Buttons ⚡ - Bulk operations for managing events
  • Settings Gear ⚙️ - Access event cooldown and display settings

Left Panel: Dual View Modes

  • Categories View 📂 - Group events by type (Raids, Quests, Diseases, etc.)
  • Mod Sources View 📚 - Group events by originating mod
  • Click header to toggle between views 🔄
  • Shows event counts for each category/mod

Main Panel: Events List 📋

  • Event Information 📝 - Name, mod source, category, and availability status
  • Enable Toggle 🎛️ - Activate or deactivate events for purchase
  • Cost Controls 💰 - Set base cost and karma type for each event
  • Def Info ℹ️ - Click event names for detailed technical information

Event Configuration ⚙️

Availability Status

  • Available ✅ - Event can be purchased via chat commands
  • Unavailable ❌ - Grayed out events cannot be enabled (not accessible on home map)
  • Disabled by Default ⚠️ - Modded events start disabled for safety

Event Settings

  • Enabled ✅ - Allows viewers to purchase this event
  • Cost 💵 - Base silver cost (default: ~500 silver)
  • Karma Type ⚖️ - Moral alignment of the event:
    • Good 😇 - Positive karma (helpful events)
    • Bad 😈 - Negative karma (harmful events)
    • Neutral 😐 - No karma impact (balanced events)
  • Reset 🔄 - Reverts cost to automatically calculated default

Event Information Display

  • Name 🏷️ - Event display name (automatically capitalized)
  • Mod Source 📦 - Originating mod (Core RimWorld events marked as "RimWorld")
  • Category 📂 - Event type classification
  • Availability Status 📊 - Shows if event is accessible on current map

Bulk Operations 🗃️

Reset Prices

  • Resets all event costs to automatically calculated defaults 🔄
  • Cannot be undone - confirmation dialog appears ⚠️

Enable/Disable Menus

  • Enable All Events ✅ - Makes all events available for purchase
  • Disable All Events ❌ - Disables all events from being purchased
  • Enable/Disable by Mod Source 📦 - Bulk operations for specific mods

Sorting & Filtering 🔄

Sort Methods

  • Name 🔤 - Alphabetical order (A-Z or Z-A)
  • Cost 💰 - Base cost (low to high or high to low)
  • Karma ⚖️ - Groups events by moral alignment

Search Features

  • Searches event names, descriptions, definition names, mod sources, and categories 🔍
  • Case-insensitive matching
  • Real-time filtering as you type ⚡
  • Show Unavailable Events 👻 - Toggle visibility of inaccessible events in settings

Common Event Types

  • Raids ⚔️ - Enemy attacks and combat events
  • Quests 🗺️ - Story missions and objectives
  • Diseases 🤒 - Illness outbreaks and medical events
  • Weather 🌦️ - Environmental condition changes
  • Animals 🐾 - Wildlife encounters and migrations
  • Trade 💰 - Trader visits and economic events
  • Miscellaneous 📦 - Various other game incidents

  • Event Statistics 📊 - Total counts by type and availability
  • Display Settings 👀 - Show/hide unavailable events
  • Cooldown Settings ⏰ - Control event frequency and limits
  • Karma Limits ⚖️ - Restrict good/bad/neutral event purchases

Cooldown Management

  • Event Cooldowns ⏳ - Prevent spam by limiting event frequency
  • Karma Type Limits 🎯 - Control moral balance of purchased events
  • Purchase Limits 🛒 - Daily caps on event purchases

Usage Tips 💡

  • Safety First 🛡️ - Modded events start disabled to prevent colony destruction
  • Progressive Enablement 📈 - Enable events gradually as your colony grows stronger
  • Karma Balance ⚖️ - Use karma types to encourage/discourage certain event types
  • Cost Scaling 💎 - Price dangerous events higher to limit frequency
  • Mod Integration 🔌 - New mod events automatically appear in the editor
  • Stream Safety 🎮 - Disable events that could ruin viewer experience

💾 Changes are saved automatically when you close the window or modify settings.
