What's this for and can we consider it separately from the other changes?

The original repository/project is dead, so I created a fork. Now it is 1:1 with the original + fix for new imgui. I plan to maintain and expand it as needed. The node-based editor is an important part of my project, so I have no problem maintaining the fork.
