Summary

This PR updates outdated Ottoman-era geographic references in Strong's dictionary data files.

What changed

  • Replaced anachronistic English references to "Palestine" with modernized wording such as:
    • the Land of Israel
    • the capital of ancient Israel
    • ancient inhabitants of the Land of Canaan
  • Applied changes consistently across all relevant formats:
    • hebrew/strongs-hebrew-dictionary.js
    • hebrew/strongshebrew.dat
    • hebrew/StrongHebrewG.xml
    • greek/strongs-greek-dictionary.js
    • greek/strongsgreek.dat
    • greek/StrongsGreekDictionaryXML_1.4/strongsgreek.xml

Why

Strong's Concordance was compiled in 1890/1894 when the land was under Ottoman rule and English usage commonly referred to it as "Palestine." For a modern biblical reference resource, that terminology is now historically anachronistic and misleading.

Notes

  • 606 Strong's entries affected (556 Hebrew + 50 Greek)
  • 1,878 total replacements across 6 data files
  • No Strong's numbers or file structure were modified
  • Verification shows zero remaining Palestine references in the updated files

Strong's Concordance (1890/1894) was compiled when the land was under
Ottoman rule, commonly referred to as 'Palestine' in English. Since the
establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, this terminology is
anachronistic in a biblical reference tool.

Changes:
- 606 concordance entries updated (556 Hebrew + 50 Greek)
- 1,878 total replacements across 6 data files (JSON, XML, DAT)
- All formats kept in sync
- No structural changes to file formats
- No Strong's numbers modified

Common patterns replaced:
'a place in Palestine' → 'a place in the Land of Israel'
'the capital city of Palestine' → 'the capital of ancient Israel'
'aborigines of Palestine' → 'ancient inhabitants of the Land of Canaan'
  and 35+ additional contextual patterns

Verification: zero remaining 'Palestine' references across all files.
