Uses face-remap-set-base on the default face so the entire window including empty regions gets a visible lighter tint when the activity phase is anything other than idle. The tint is removed immediately when the phase returns to idle. The blend shifts 18% (dark) / 12% (light) toward neutral grey, producing a clearly visible but non-distracting background change.
The defvar-local for pi-coding-agent--input-buffer was placed at line 942, after its first reference in pi-coding-agent--update-input-activity-indicator (line 427), causing a byte-compile error: Error: reference to free variable 'pi-coding-agent--input-buffer' Move the declaration up alongside the related --input-activity-tinted var so it precedes all uses.

This is a weird one but I found it really helpful. When I have a lot of Emacs frames open, each with a different pi process, I want to be able to see at a glance which ones are still waiting for an agent to finish (usually using macOS Exposé). This patch has been the simplest way to do so. Happy to make modifications.
