  1. Add scripts/install_pacman.sh script to enable installation of Pacman package manager into Cmder.

    • Currently depends on pacman-for-git, forked from pacman-for-git so I had control of updating git version commit hashes.
      • We may want to fork this here, so we all have control of it if/when we include this in Cmder.
      • We will need to update this repo before updating the Cmder git version in vendor\sources.json.

  2. Update scripts/build.ps1 to have a -InstallPacman switch.

    • Did this temporarily for testing.
    • We could remove the switch and make it the default if we decide to make pacman a default part of Cmder - Full

  3. Update vendor/sources.json.

  4. Add vscode workspaces files to .gitignore.

@DRSDavidSoft have you tried the script? It works for me but would love for others to try it.

@daxgames Not yet, but super excited to try it soon! I've been using a MSYS2 installation on top of the Git for Windows in Cmder, so I'd love to see built in pacman support in Cmder out of the box 👌🏻

Cmder integrated pacman was the next step. I have the beginnings of an install_pacman.ps1 but it does not work and breaks things HORRIBLY.

@cmderdev/trusted-contributors do we want to install pacman if including git? I have a version of build.ps1 that does this in this PR. It currently defaults to no, see the PR description above for details.

Archive size differences below with pacman archives on the left:

It calls bash install_pacman.sh script. It can be done as shown below:

.\build.ps1 -verbose -compile -InstallPacman
