queries for transition level and precursor level quite similar now so
refactor code so less redundancy
parquet tests were previously broken because all rows were dropped
because one conlumn contained NAN. Because of this some of the tests
were broken.
this is indicative of true OSW files which are 19 digits long. Test
calculations are done with a pseudo feature id which is the first digit
