What

Replaces AGPL-3.0 with the PolyForm Strict License 1.0.0

  • Repo stays public and readable — the goal (prospective hires can see our code) is unchanged.
  • It is not open source: distribution, modification, and commercial use are not permitted → competitors get no right to reuse the code.

Why

  • Apache-2.0 would explicitly let competitors reuse the code in closed products
  • AGPL gives reuse protection only via copyleft, but carries App Store/diligence costs and is the wrong tool for a client
  • PolyForm Strict grants read/study (hiring goal) and withholds everything else (protection), and is reversible-direction

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Replace AGPL-3.0 with the PolyForm Strict 1.0.0 source-available license:
repo stays public/readable (transparency for hiring) but distribution,
modification, and commercial use are not permitted — so competitors get no
reuse right. Dependency inventory is copyleft-free (372 deps, 0 copyleft),
so no remediation is required before this change.

DO NOT MERGE until legal/IP has signed off and confirmed copyright ownership
of all contributions.
