Description
I'm not sure if the title is clear, but I sometimes get a "buffer pile-up" situation where my touch inputs seem to get buffered, delayed for a little bit and then executed very quickly all at once. The cursor will first stop moving, then move around a bunch, often also executing clicks that I did not send. This happens when the stutter happens while I tap-and-hold to move the cursor around, which is being interpreted as multiple individual taps.
I recently installed the new signed version of the driver with bluetooth support, and have been using my MT2 like that since then. It usually works smoothly, but these stutters can cause unintended input, which isn't nice. I don't think I've had this issue on USB, but I admittedly haven't tried it much since installing the BT-enabled version.
I'm not certain that the issue is even in the driver to begin with. It could be in the bluetooth stack on my work laptop, as I also get sound glitches on my bluetooth headphones, which I have not been able to fully resolve so far. I did some research on that topic and one of the causes could be the laptop's BIOS causing fast clock speed and power state switching, causing stutters.
Some Dell thread about a specific (by now outdated) BIOS version causing issues: https://www.dell.com/community/en/conversations/precision-mobile-workstations/precision-7770-bios-1180-overall-system-performance-degradation/65c7802d0217a51eb1a3ebd3
So far, I've tried different power modes in Windows. The "best power efficiency" mode seems to introduce more audio stuttering, while "balanced" and "best performance" have less but still non-zero stuttering. I couldn't see if the trackpad stuttering is affected by this as well.
I saw you don't own this hardware, so I'd be happy to help debug the issue, if it's indeed caused by this driver! Perhaps you could point me in the right direction to figure out if the issue is even caused by this driver to begin with?
Some system specs:
Laptop: Dell Precision 7770
BIOS Version: Dell Inc. 1.36.0, 24/12/2025
OS: Windows 11 Pro 25H2 26200.8037
WiFi/BT adapter: Intel AX211
WiFi/BT driver: BT-24.30.1-64UWD-Win10-Win11
WiFi/BT driver link: Intel website
This screenshot of DPC latency checker does suggest something is causing issues. Sadly, I cannot check individual drivers because LatencyMon requires a license to run on domain-connected machines, and the trial I had used before to troubleshoot the audio stuttering ran out.
