Thanks for bringing this up! SEP-1865 looks really exciting - the ability to serve interactive UI components directly through MCP would be a great fit for ai-elements.

Right now the spec is still in draft status, but it's got a lot of momentum (100+ reactions on the PR!). We'll definitely be keeping an eye on it as it progresses.

Once SEP-1865 stabilizes, we'd love to explore adding support - imagine being able to preview components directly in your MCP client rather than just getting the code back. That would be pretty cool!

Leaving this open to track interest and revisit once the spec is closer to finalization.

Hi all, the spec has been approved modelcontextprotocol/modelcontextprotocol#1865 and about to be merged, which is very exciting!
What are the next steps on this?

Has also been adopted by both OpenAI and Anthropic now

how to implement this (mcp apps) with ai elements? The appropriate tool messages should trigger showing an iframe in the chat window, handling over the ui ressource (to draw the component / resource), establish communication between the iframe inner iframe and the message window and listen to messages coming from the ui resource.

Is this something you are planning soon?
