Why so many qubits? #3

Why do you set up so many qubits for this simulation? With the current code I could only factorise numbers up to about 50 in a reasonable time, but after manually setting the number of qubits to 8, numbers up to 255 can be factorised. Is there a reason you use more qubits than you really need?
