CRAN packages also come with DOIs, e.g. https://doi.org/10.32614/CRAN.package.patchwork. Not sure why this wouldn't be included in the BibTex entry by default.

@teunbrand: Fair point but AFAICT, this package does not provide any citation information explicitly. So if you want to discuss the default behaviour, this packages issue tracker is not the place to do so. If I were you, I'd probably start here.
