ℹ Environment / Computer Info
- Spotify version: CachyOS Linux v1.2.84.476.ga1ff6607
- Spicetify version: 2.42.14
📝 Description
As of the latest Spotify update, running Spicetify on top of it breaks other KDE Plasmoids that hook into Spotify. The main two I am affected by are NowPlaying and plasmoid-spotify.
Examples of this behavior can be seen below. The two plasmoids I mentioned include the "Now Playing" bar at the top and the lyrics section underneath the visualizer.
With Spicetify (spicetify apply):
When Paused, the plasmoid shows the current playlist.
When Playing, the plasmoid shows the title and artist as the title, and no lyrics are detected.
Without Spicetify (spicetify restore):
When Paused, the plasmoid shows the current title and artist as expected.
When Playing, the title and artist are kept and the lyrics are displayed as expected.
It should also be noted I don't have any Extensions or Apps installed that mess with the lyrics or song metadata, I have the text theme installed alongside a simple custom CSS for progress bar smoothing.
