Importing backgrounds in Fred2 doesn't fully work.

Specifically, when trying to import the background from bp2-06, the end result is this:

However, when bp2-06 itself is loaded, the background box looks like this:

I'd not be surprised if the import background feature simply hasn't been updated to incorperate a lot of the slightly-more-recent features that FSO now has, but I'd be really happy if this could be fixed!

At first glance, missing is:

• Ambient Light
• Skybox, both model and direction
• number of stars
• lighting profile

That sounds about right. Currently, the importer affects the current "background" in the list of backgrounds, which really means the current collection of ship and weapon bitmaps. Those other features you mentioned are not part of the selectable backgrounds, though they probably should be. (Probably not the full-nebula though.)

Why would you not want to import the nebula settings? If the user imports the background from a mission with the full nebula, they'd presumably want the full nebula. I can't see why anyone would want to copy, say, the BP2-22 "Eyes in the Storm" (the Jupiter mission) background and somehow leave out the nebula.

I realize I can´t exactly speak for everyone else but I see no reason why the "import" button on top of a screen shouldn´t just import everything that's in that screen, rather then everything except the options in the middle-left section.

It would certainly make sense, but importing the nebula would be fairly complex. And to do this right, all the data should be imported and stored in the background data structure. I'll have to think about this.
