Virtual packages missed

Here we see virtual packages appear to the bash-completion user to
seemingly not exist.

$ sudo aptitude install imagemagick-<TAB>
imagemagick-6-common   imagemagick-7-doc

When all along there was a virtual package they were never aware of!

$ aptitude search imagemagic
i   imagemagick-7-doc - document files of ImageMagick
v   imagemagick-doc

Does apt-cache --no-generate pkgnames list the virtual package?
EDIT: even better, apt-cache --no-generate pkgnames imagemagick-

Per the manpage it appears virtual packages would be there:

https://manpages.debian.org/testing/apt/apt-cache.8.en.html -> pkgnames

Note that a package which APT knows of is not necessarily available to download, installable or installed, e.g. virtual packages are also listed in the generated list.

...but in reality it seems they are not:
