"sh: crx2rnx: not found" message

I copied the contents of https://terras.gsi.go.jp/ja/crx2rnx/RNXCMP_4.1.0_Linux_x86_64bit.tar.gz to /bin and RTKLIB/bin and the error still shows up:

sh: 1: crx2rnx: not found

I think the capitalization is wrong.

If I do ln /bin/CRX2RNX /bin/crx2rnx it works.

I am also seeing sh: 1: cannot create /input/unro/unro001o.25o: Read-only file system why is it trying to output to the input directory?

crx2rnx is an external decompression tool that is called by RTKLIB if input files are compressed. It must be located in the same folder as the RTKLIB executable or in the path. For convenience, it is included in the windows releases but can also be downloaded from https://gnss1.tudelft.nl/pub/vdmarel/software/crz2rnx.zip. The decompressed files will be written to the same directory as the compressed files

The capitalization is wrong, decompressing alone won't work.

The code for this is in src/rtkcmn.c rtk_uncompress() and yes that code expects crx2rnx to be in lowercase. Windows is not case sensitive so on Windows that will also work if the executable is 'CRX2RNX', and for linux it needs to be renamed to lowercase.

Just looking for the source and noted that version 4.0.7 is rather out of date, the current version appears to be 4.2.0 (2025-07-30) https://terras.gsi.go.jp/ja/crx2rnx.html Does anyone have a line to the authors so we can query the file case naming and perhaps get the source code? If they have a reason for using uppercase on unix then perhaps we should patch rtk_uncompress() to also try uppercase.

I would patch it maintain backwards compatibility (accepting both lower and upper case).

The author replied, thank you, and noted that the use of uppercase is historical and that it has been kept uppercase for backwards compatibility, and suggested that RTKLIB used lowercase as that worked on Windows. They also noted that the source code is available at https://terras.gsi.go.jp/ja/crx2rnx.html

I would patch rtklib to also check uppercase on linux instead of the proposed message.
