Messages crashes when injection is enabled with “Unknown & Filtered Senders” (since bootstrap 1.4, still present in 2.0)

What happened

When I enable Messages injection in bootstrap, opening Messages becomes extremely laggy and then the app crashes automatically.
This issue first appeared in bootstrap version 1.4. At that time, I avoided it by downgrading to version 1.3.2. Now the same issue has reappeared in version 2.0.

This time, through process of elimination, I have confirmed that the problem is related to message filtering. The issue occurs when Messages injection is enabled and, at the same time, “Unknown & Filtered Senders” is enabled in Settings with a third-party app selected for filtering.

At the moment, the only workaround is to disable the injection. I hope this issue can be resolved. Thank you.

This doesn’t seem to be a universal issue.
I asked about it on the forum, and one person reported that the same setup works fine for them, while others experience the same lag and hang.
I’m not sure what difference in environment or setup is causing this.

Yes, that was my first thought as well. I tried disabling tweak injection, but the behavior was the same. I then rebooted the device, but it still didn’t help. After that, I uninstalled bootstrap, returned to a no-jailbreak state, reinstalled bootstrap, and enabled injection only for Messages. The issue still occurs. I noticed when opening Messages that Transactions and Promotions do not appear. So When I went into Settings and disabled “Unknown & Filtered Senders”, Messages injection started working normally again. This makes it seem unrelated to tweaks themselves. I also tried injecting the third-party message filter app directly, but that didn’t change the behavior either.

I remember that the update notes mentioned some changes or improvements in version 1.4, and this issue also started appearing after upgrading to 1.4.
That’s why I’m asking here, to see if anyone else has run into the same problem and found a solution.

I tried that, but the behavior is still the same. As long as both Messages injection and a third-party message filter are enabled at the same time, Messages will lag and hang. If I don’t use a third-party filter (set it to None), Messages does not hang.
