Hi,
With apps like e.g. Superfreezz (similar to this), you can use Android intent to freeze apps. The intent can be called by either MacroDroid or Tasker (or other similar automation apps). This allows complete automation of app freezing (using MacroDroid or Tasker) and they can just freeze the apps by calling the intent.
