Is it possible to use environment variables to hide db?

For now there is no ENV variable that does that, it would need to be added to https://github.com/phpmyadmin/docker/blob/master/config.inc.php

you can add config.user.inc.php
example:

EDIT: This was found to not be the cause of the issue.

Just a warning for any user ( spent more than 3 hours debugging this), the closing ?> is very important.

this is weird, can you share your docker compose ?

I just found out the issue is not related to the closing ?> but rather has to do with the database initialization. I get an error only on the first boot of the container. If I stop and start everything works as normal. I guess this caused confusion by removing and adding the ?> at the same time..

<?php is often missing when users report this, maybe you added it at the same time
