Customizable Mail List: Line View with Sender, Subject, and Time

The current mail list view, showing a preview of the first three lines, becomes very cluttered when handling many emails. It is difficult to quickly get an overview, especially with emails from multiple senders.

Describe the solution you'd like

An option to customize the view would be very helpful. In particular, a line-by-line display showing the sender, subject, and time—similar to most mail applications (e.g., Mozilla Thunderbird or Outlook)—would greatly improve clarity and make navigating through many emails much easier.

Describe alternatives you've considered

So far, I have tried improving the overview by sorting or filtering emails, but this only helps to a limited extent. Alternatively, I have looked at other mail clients that use a clear, compact line view. Implementing a similar option in Nextcloud Mail would significantly enhance readability and efficiency.

Can you please upgrade your mail app, give it a test and see if its what you had in mind here :)

Unfortunately, this feature is not yet available in the combination of Nextcloud 31.0.14 and Mail 5.6.13. I looked at it in another test installation and, unfortunately, found that the view isn't much more compact. With a large number of emails, the date-based organization is still cumbersome. A truly compact overview that displays only the sender, subject, and time in one or two lines would be desirable.

@jochen35 this is exactly what list view in compact mode does. Look at the screenshot below:

There are things to improve there, like the subject should take the whole space and vertical space should be smaller. But the general request of showing only sender subject and time, is exactly what compact mode shows.
