Poor Performance from NFD on Android content requests

I am getting quite poor performance results when requesting content objects via SegmentFetcher.fetch. Data is taking seconds to arrive, rather than (expected) a couple of 100 milliseconds.

Can you suggest a mechanism whereby I can speed this process up?

jNDN SegmentFetcher does not have pipeling. There is a pull request for it now if you want to try:
named-data/jndn#24
