Add environment path to interpreter selection menu when on multi-root projects

if you have multiple projects that get venvs with the same name, it's hard to understand which environment is which when changing selections via the Python Projects view:

Maybe in these cases we could add the path of the venv as a detail on the quick pick menu? Or maybe show it on hover

I'm not sure if this is related - but I just lost the last day chasing settings and fighting virtual environment setup in my project that is setup just like this. (1 Workspace, multiple folders, each with their own .venv / local interpreter settings). I think it seems like a bunch of defaults or behavior might have changed in the last week or something, because I wasn't running into issues until very recently.

1. I wasn't sure which venv was being set up, and it turns out that my workspace (at the top) also has a .venv that i use on occasion as well. It seems like (due to some default / auto-magic) that it was consistently choosing that one, forcing sub-packages (eg. ruff and ty) to use that one, etc. making all the language-server features useless consistently.
2. Once i manually tried to force it to others, I could never tell which environment was selected, and it frequently seemed to not "stick"
3. Probably unrelated, but it seemed to be made worse during all of this: it seems like the "python-envs.terminal.autoActivationType" doesn't respect python settings: ( "python.terminal.activateEnvironment": false, "python.terminal.activateEnvInCurrentTerminal": false). -- even when i turned activateenvironment to false, i was still getting forced activation in my terminal. (Note this was very frustrating, becuase i'm working in a multi-project root. I want my terminal to be "free" and I will manage this)
4. I'm not sure how i ended up there, but i frequently ended up with two activated environments in the bottom right corner of my vscode. when i clicked on one, it was about "interpreter" and when i selceted the other it was about "virtual environments" -- are these separate systems? are they out of sync now? It also seemed like it was trying to make new environments sometimes, and I'm not sure why, and I never want that.

Sorry for tagging along on this post, but it was the most related thing to what I was seeing, and it seemed to pop-up close to when I've been fighting this, so I'm assuming it's related -- if its not, I can break this into separate issues.

For richer context, I use a pattern of using uv to manage my environments (uv init in each folder for a quick project folder, where i manage via pyproject.toml and a local .venv). Note, becuase I'm using uv and pyproject, i actually often switch up python versions (and change .python-version) and other options in my terminal to try out compatability issues (likely making this all more complex, but is necessary for my workflow). The way I actually run any command or script, is uv run ... inside of the directory. I also use mise to manage the install of uv and additional env vars, etc. (So my terminal picks up env vars and shims when i go to the folder via mise, then uv run manages the python environments)

For the IDE experience: the "dream" would be if the python-env would take whatever file I'm looking at, and walk "up the tree" towards the workspace root, and stop at the first instance of pyproject.toml, .venv folder, etc. (some match), and then use that for everything local to that file.

Note, I'm also managing my install of uv + npm, etc. via mise (of mise-en-place). And I've gotten used to the workflows that mise and uv offer, which both work with this "directory walking towards root" behavior (either with an inheritance behavior (mise) or a stop at first match (uv)).

Turns out I now realize that my issues are unrelated (in a way) to this.

I didn't realize that the concept of "project" existed and is actually what this extension offers, and is made to try to resolve my issues. Now that it's setup, it seems to be working well.

Honestly, I don't remember how I even got into a situation where this extension was installed (is it bundled with the default python extension?).

Additionally, it seems like the Activity Bar button for Python is missing on my vscode, and I can't seem to find it (not available in any of the right click lists, etc.). No idea how to get it there... but I am assuming that if I had that on the side-bar, it'd be a great place to manage and find these environments via the "Environment Managers" fold (based on the Readme for this extension).

For now, I was able to right click -> Add as Python Project, and then verify that this shows up in my workspace .vscode/settings.json.

(1) Once I did that, I no longer had the issues about which venv was being used, they chose the local folder name (and not .venv) like i was seeing before, so the naming issue is resolved. (I no longer have the issue or see many .venv, instead i see the folder / project names, and they include the path to the python project1 (3.12.7) ./project1/.venv/bin/python exactly like i would want.
(2) it also auto switches appropriately in my multiple folders. This is lovely! Huge win.
(3) seems like a real bug / issue
(4) this multi-environment issue is no longer happening. Likely because I uninstalled and reinstalled vscode, extensions, etc. and got out of whatever weird state I was in, hopefully it doesn't come back.
