C++ formatting is poor

If a codeblock has cpp as the language, it sometimes does not seem to have much highlighting applied. It almost looks like the default "language guessing" is being used instead of the listed language. Any thoughts?

This plugin actually delegates styling to gitbook's highlight plugin which uses highlightjs to style code snippets. ill have to debug to see why its doing that to give you a good answer.
