Bug description
When I try to use a full screen (not maximized) and an always on-top app on cinnamon DE, with an activated magnifier, I cannot see the cursor nor interact with any UI elements. In addition, the full screen app does not appear as magnified. While I am not certain if these properties are the main cause, the apps I had problem include flameshot and mcpe launcher. Mcpe launcher has the problem with the actual Minecraft window so testing on flameshot would be the most optimal for reproduction.
Steps to reproduce
- Install flameshot from apt or flatpak.
- Enable the magnifier from system settings and zoom in.
- Launch flameshot and try to take a screenshot (not a fullscreen screenshot, you want to see the ui). Or if you installed through apt, just run
flameshot gui.
Expected behavior
I expect to see and have control over the cursor and be able to see the screen magnified.
Additional information
The inability of using the magnifier is also the case for the lockscreen/screensaver and the lightdm login prompt. The case with the lockscreen/screensaver has similar symptoms to the bug mentioned above, and I am aware that the case with the lightdm is a lack of functionality on their end, not a bug with cinnamon. I would like the case for the lockscreen/screensaver to be fixed eventually; however, this bug affects which apps I can use (such as flameshot), becoming an accessibility concern.
