What feature would you like added?

Right now, short press triggers will act on button down events:

Short press
This is a simple press of the key and there are no restrictions to how you press it. The key map is triggered when this key is pressed down and doesn't need to be released to activate it. There are no options for this click type.

This is quite dysfunctional for mapping modifier keys like SHIFT or ALT, as "short press" actions will get triggered even when holding and not releasing them. So the current "short press" name is misleading when it is actually a "button down" trigger..

Guess 150-200ms would be a good default for a new "short press trigger maximum duration" setting.

Well remapping short press of SHIFT to TAB f.e. (this physical keyboard layout is really naughty.. oh how I miss my i927) ..
