integrate tricky-store into rom

I'm currently learning about custom ROMs and found out that I can use Tricky-Store to change the "certificate chain" for "android key attestation" but it has to be done through Magisk.
I wanted to ask if there's a way to integrate it into the ROM to use it without Magisk?
For example, changing the source code of AOSP.
