Problem with webp not displaying

I'm using Kitty on macOS.
The image displays when I run kitten icat “test.webp”,
but it doesn't display when I run fastfetch --kitty-direct “test.webp”. Why is that?

kitty supports png format only with --kitty-direct. You either:

1. convert webp to png (preferred)
2. use --kitty (buggy)
3. use ghostty or wezterm that supports other formats with --kitty-direct
