Clarification on Ring Doorbell Compatibility with onNewNotification method #1635
-
|
After running npm start, I see the message: "Listening for motion and doorbell presses on your cameras." in my terminal, which indicates the setup is running correctly. However, when I press the button on my Ring Battery Doorbell, nothing happens—no output is triggered in the terminal. I'm currently using ring-client-example. Is it possible that the onNewNotification method is not supported by battery-powered Ring devices?
If that's the case, could you please advise: Whether onNewNotification only works with certain models? Which Ring Doorbell model(s) do support onNewNotification or provide real-time event handling more reliably? Much appreciated for any help! |

All cameras are supported, notifications are not unique per camera. Obviously, anything that suppresses motion detection or notification will prevent the events from arriving. Notification troubleshooting is covered in the Wiki. |
