OS X universal binary release files not installing (eg. Hugo)

since it is a time ago. the hugo team deacided to provide universal release file for hugo. The fetch and install does not work on OS X as architecture is not anymore in filename (replaced by universal). looks to me, this is not supported even by code, but I did not spent a lot of time with investigation
