Hook install overwrites settings.json

Installer created settings.json with ENV var. Hook installer replaces the settings.json instead performing a merge.

Analysis:
The INSTALL.md documentation is already correct - it specifies:

• For new installations: cp config/settings-hooks.json ~/.claude/settings.json
• For existing installations: "Merge the hooks section from config/settings-hooks.json into your existing ~/.claude/settings.json"

The Issue:
The confusion arises because:

1. The documentation is correct but the merge step is manual
2. If someone follows the "new installation" path when they have existing settings, it overwrites

Recommendation:
This is a documentation/UX issue rather than a bug. The INSTALL.md Step 3 clearly distinguishes between new and existing installations.

If you have suggestions for making this clearer or want to contribute a merge helper script, that would be welcome! For now, I'll keep this open as a UX improvement opportunity rather than a critical bug.

If we follow the clear path of Kai Bundle its a bug. The installer creates a new settings.json because of the lack of sourcing .env. Then in the next step the hook installer overwrites this. And claims a restart of CC which then breaks and leafs the user alone. There is no backup performed by the hook installer.

Personally I wouldn't call it a existing installation if running the KAI installer (even if it is technical wise). Will consider to provide a helper script.
