Build failing

I am following the steps in the README.txt, and on the mma step the build always fails. I've attached a screenshot of the error.

I was eventually able to complete a build by using the following steps:

Create a Ubuntu 12.04 virtual machine. (Must be 64-bit!)

sudo su -

Install OpenJdk 6:

1. rm -rf /var/lib/apt/lists/*
2. apt-get update
3. apt-get install python-software-properties
4. apt-get install openjdk-7-jdk

Install repo:

1. mkdir ~/bin
2. PATH=~/bin:$PATH
3. curl https://storage.googleapis.com/git-repo-downloads/repo > ~/bin/repo
4. chmod a+x ~/bin/repo

Install requirements specific to Ubuntu 12.04:

1. apt-get install git gnupg flex bison gperf build-essential zip curl libc6-dev libncurses5-dev:i386 x11proto-core-dev libx11-dev:i386 libreadline6-dev:i386 libgl1-mesa-glx:i386 libgl1-mesa-dev g++-multilib gcc-multilib mingw32 tofrodos python-markdown libxml2-utils xsltproc zlib1g-dev:i386
2. ln -s /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/mesa/libGL.so.1 /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libGL.so
repo init -u https://android.googlesource.com/platform/manifest -b android-5.1.1_r37 (takes at least an hour for it to complete)
   repo syn -j4 -c
cd external
rm -r pdfium
git clone https://github.com/barteksc/modpdfium.git pdfium
cd ..
   edit build/core/version_defaults.mk and change variable PLATFORM_SDK_VERSION to 9 (not sure if this step is required)
   apt-get install make
source build/envsetup.sh
cd external/pdfium/fpdfsdk
lunch and select architecture
   mma and wait ~5 minutes
