Create Integration tests to test Batch Checkpointing behaviour

Test the following:

• Step semantics (at least / at most)
• Thundering herd within parallel/map
• Size of checkpoints greater than size limit
• Synchronous checkpointing when appropriate (see readme on sdk package)
