[Windows, 0.31.15] Unclean shutdown when OBS is left open on logging out / shutting down computer

I've recently switched back to using DeviceIO for audio output from my capture card (direct output to my Headphones and Speakers and toggling between them with a script - that part works fine)

So I've added an Audio Input Capture for my capture card in my background / NDI OBS instance (which runs on startup and just lives in the system tray), then I added 2 Device Io filters onto it - one for Headphones, or for Speakers (so I can toggle them on and off separately)

Ever since doing that, I've sometimes been getting an unclean shutdown popup on my next system boot.
I've caught a delayed shutdown the last few days with the OBS icon and a "gdi-window".
There is unfortunately no crash report and the log is just cut off early.

This hasn't happened at all for the last few months (when I didn't have that filter on the source)

If there's anything I can test for extra logging I'd be happy to.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be 100% reproducible so far - if I do a shutdown somewhat soon after starting the PC it doesn't happen on the next boot...

I initially tried it with the 2 DeviceIo2 filters but it also had the issue... It feels like it's not always able to cleanly delete the settings window or something and gets stuck in that part?

iirc, if the plugin module unload is (maybe sometimes) called from non-main thread, then JUCE framework doesn't always play nice.

Had it happen again just now, was quick enough to snap a picture but whenever I try to hit Cancel for that shutdown it is already too late and it's shutting down regardless...

Also I renamed the OBS executable so it doesn't automatically set me to Streamer Mode in Discord - I've been doing this for over a year, so that shouldn't be the cause for this

Edit: Didn't get it on the startup after that today... Will keep an eye on future restarts though

Installed it into my instance and will keep an eye on it for the next few days, will report back then :)

Thank you for already putting some effort into trying to fix this - if it does end up being something that's not fixable through the plugin itself that'll be unfortunate, but I understand.

I can just boot the OBS instance through Task Scheduler and have it delete the .sentinel folder first (since OBS checks that for unclean shutdowns) - not the best approach but since I know it is a non-issue it's fine

Unfortunately had it happen once again today.

It causes a delay in Windows shutdown as well so that's not good.

You mention it would be an issue between JUCE and OBS/QT...
Now, OBS had some issues with unclean shutdowns as well in one of the recent releases (which was because some Qt element wasn't correctly deleted and thus prevented the shutdown) though I'm not sure if that'd be the case here, too.

(Can't check on the 0.32.1 source yet since that's not committed)
