Hey @aaronspring , I like this idea of accessing climate data remotely! I would like to add cru_ts gridded station data, e.g.

• climate: http://dap.ceda.ac.uk/thredds/dodsC/badc/cru/data/cru_ts/cru_ts_4.03/data/pre/cru_ts4.03.1901.2018.pre.dat.nc

That datasets have different variables: tmp, pre, etc.. It would be quite straighforward to build the open dap url from the variable and dataset version. I will try doing it by templating the urlpath...

Another dataset very interesting for Euro-Cordex would be eobs
