Information loss when two separate but related terms are used in annotation

Information is lost when annotation is to two separate anatomy terms, example, 'intestinal cell' and 'male' when the paper meant 'intestinal cells in the male'.  Also leads to mis-interpretaion when computed upon. Probably true for other similar terms/instances as well?
