Hello,

I wanted to report unexpected behavior when copying a file containing Russian characters in filename from Guest OS and pasting it to the Host Windows machine. The following window appears with scrambled characters and the original name is not preserved. Probably it happens due to the characters encoding issue.

However, dragging and dropping file preserves the name as it is in Russian. Please, fix this small but annoying issue.

How can we reproduce this?

Name a file in Russian (for example "Это тестовый файл на русском" - "This is a test file in Russian") in the Guest OS and then copy and paste it into the Host OS.

Did you upload all of your necessary log files, screenshots, etc.?

Could you please update host package and Guest Additions to the latest version (7.2.8) and check if the issue is still there?

Updating the VirtualBox to 7.2.8 and Guest Additions did not help, the issue is still present in the latest build.

Dragging and dropping, however, works fine and preserves the file name. It is showing the following window before copying the file via Windows means.
