Description

@Dominicus1165

Expectation

rsync runs once and all files are synced without error.

System

  • Windows fileshare (no ssh or remote execution of commands)
  • Linux Server who executes scripts
  • file-list.txt created with find with relative paths on fileshare
file-list.txt

...
./archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/jammy/main/i18n/by-hash/SHA1/e8a89f445a82c1b30ca407db84b155e62b53bb11

...

fileshare="/mnt/fileshare/download"
targetDir="/mnt/fileshare/incremental-update"

rsync -a --files-from=update_list.txt $fileshare $targetDir

# also tried with these flags
-t                        (without -a)
--ignore-missing-args
--from0 (with a different list of course)
--bwlimit=10000 (does not help and we are talking about 4.5 GB of files daily)

Problem

When running the rsync command, I receive hundreds of errors related only to the hash value entries.
With each subsequent run, I receive fewer and fewer errors until it completes successfully after 3-5 reruns.
