When working through a task, you can't easily see all changes made by agents.

People who are not reviewing every single change individually in roo code

Desired behavior (conceptual, not technical)

Together with Start new task and Terminate button when a task is completed, show a new button called See all changes.

This new button will show a diff of all changes made from all checkpoints in the current task in a new editor view.

This will allow users to easily see all changes made by an agent inside the chat view

I've analyzed this issue and here's my proposed implementation plan:

Summary

The "See Changes" button feature is straightforward to implement because the core functionality already exists in the codebase. The checkpointDiff function in src/core/checkpoints/index.ts supports a "full" mode that compares from the first checkpoint to the current workspace state, which is exactly what this feature needs.

Implementation Plan

1. Modify webview-ui/src/components/chat/ChatView.tsx

• In the completion_result case (around line 352-362), add a secondary button "See Changes" alongside the existing "Start New Task" button
• The button will only be visible when there are checkpoints in the current task (using the existing hasCheckpoint tracking)
• When clicked, send a checkpointDiff message with mode: "full" and the first checkpoint's commit hash

2. Add the button click handler

• Create a handler that finds the first checkpoint from the task messages
• Send the message: { type: "checkpointDiff", payload: { commitHash: firstCheckpointHash, mode: "full" } }

3. Add translations

• Add translation keys for the button text (chat:seeChanges.title) and tooltip (chat:seeChanges.tooltip)

4. Add tests

• Add test coverage for the new button in ChatView.spec.tsx

Technical Details

• The existing checkpointDiff function (lines 317-392 in src/core/checkpoints/index.ts) already handles the "full" mode diff
• The webview message handler at lines 1121-1128 in webviewMessageHandler.ts already processes checkpointDiff messages
• VS Code's vscode.changes command is used to display the multi-file diff view

This approach leverages existing infrastructure, requiring minimal new code while delivering the requested functionality.

Opened a PR with my attempt at addressing this: #10730

The implementation adds a "See All Changes" button that appears when a task completes (alongside the "Start New Task" button). When clicked, it shows a diff of all changes made from the first checkpoint to the current workspace state using VSCode's multi-file diff view.
