Gif insert from keyboard

Would be nice to see this added as it has been one of the first things the users of our RocketChat server have noticed and led to an overall sense that Rocket.chat is not "polished".

This is obviously not a priority, but can anyone explain the technical reason this feature doesn't exist? Slack, GroupMe, etc etc have had this forever.

@mjtechguy exactly because it's not a priority. It requires some critical changes on how the native TextInput works.
That said, we don't have enough hands to work on that right now, so we're open to review PRs from the community.

Wait we haven't added this feature yet, we are waiting for the library to add newArch support

Feel free to re-open. It had been long enough since I had even tried and the issue was over 5 years old so figured it should probably be closed either way
