So far so good. Using them feels good. I'm afraid for balancing's sake I'll likely limit the crafting to only the regular small plane and a furnace engine, no boosters, no armour, nothing. Just a simple plane.

It's slower than a train (I think) which I like, yet faster than horseback - for something that's fuelled and powered with coal I should certainly hope so.

I'll have to do some further investigation, but so far, so good 👀

Really fun! I do think having a really, really, dead simple way for players to explore as a starting item, and a dead simple way for them to re-fuel (burn down trees for coal) is great. However, this does definitely violate "planes are end game", as well as the "looks like vanilla with a crazy texture pack." I've excepted this rule for the clockwork vehicles because they are just that: (mostly, possibly) vanilla blocks at an angle. They are vehicles, and obviously not vanilla with a texture pack. I'm okay with this simply because of how far along in progression they are - late-game should reward crazy stuff. These (small) planes would be one of the first items players get. I really do like the planes, but might end up looking into an alternative where players have a plane building kit in a backpack or something, and can design their own plane in a creative server, then use it to explore. This still leaves a bunch of problems however: for one, fuel.

I'm not cancelling this idea yet, since I really do like it, I'm just struggling to find a way to make it work. But I really do want to!
