Unmanaged memory leak after upgrading to 4.9

Bug explanation

I recently upgraded to 4.9 from 4.8 and some points of the application the unmanaged memory shoots up as high as 85GB. There is no major change from implementation side after the upgrade. Already tested by downgrading to older versions of Material design.

I think think might be caused by this issue, which probably won't be resolved.

I have been seeing similar reports on various versions. This is possibly a duplicate of #3441. If possible, it would be great to grab a memory dump. I have a suspicion this may be hardware related.
