The position of the Directory->Count tab is not persistent.

In order to see the cell/category string fully, one has to move the tab split every time.
I thought this would be a qt5 bug, but this is with MacOS 0.30.7 self-compiled with qt6.

The size of Directory is persistent, so it would be sufficient to make both Cell and Count tabs width half the Directory width.

Funny thing is, the widths of the columns is persisted for me on Ubuntu. I'm using Qt 6.4.2.

There are a few things you can try:

• when you look at the "klayoutrc" file in ~/.klayout and for the <rdb-window-state-v2> element: is there some component in the string like directory_tree="AAAA/wAAAA....AAAAAA==";?
• if you remove that entry and try again - is the column width persisted then? Maybe the format is Qt version specific (which it should not be IMHO) and some flag is inherited that tells the columns to be self-adjusting.

wsl ubuntu qt5.10, the Directory tab position is persistent, on MacOS using qt6.11.0 it's not (and wasn't with qt5 either).
Seems like a Mac specific bug.
The splitter positions are persistent on both.
On wsl, the main klayout window position is not persistent, it's always top level corner, but the Error Browser window position is persistent. Go figure.
