Summary

L3 maps are internally created as HEALPix and then interpolated to rectangular for output. The Ultra team would like to have the direct HEALPix output

Requirements

• Mapper tool support only, not routine
• Should work for all L3 map products
• Assumes existence of L2 HEALPix mapping output code
• TBD: use HEALPix L2 input or current approach of regenerate from pointing set?
• Coordinate CAVA support (does not currently exist)
