Description
Apologies if the formatting of this is inadequate; this is my first issue filed on GitHub and I am on mobile.
This issue pertains to setting the MaximumRepairMarkers value in the .ini to any value above 6. It can cause game crashing and save corruption.
Symptoms
- When trying to create a race day with exactly 127 repair markers, the repair marker count in the initial setup menu displays "Cannot Repair Car". Attempting to increment or decrement this value will crash the game. Additionally, attempting to finalize the race day setup with this value set will crash the game as well. No race day is present after restarting. I have not noticed any further issues with this.
- When trying to create a race day with anywhere from 7 to 126 repair markers, the game appears to function fine; the full range of markers specified can be selected, and the race day can be created, played, and finished. However, after restarting the game, the race day becomes corrupted. Attempting to select the race day in the menu will instantly crash the game; if the race day is the first in the list, attempting to open the Race Day menu at all instantly crashes the game, making the entire sub-menu inaccessible. As the offending race day cannot be deleted without selecting it in the menu, there is no way to remove it, and it thus permanently corrupts the save file. (I have encountered another user on the ExOpts Discord with this same issue, so I am not confident chalking this up to user error or an isolated setup issue.)
- In both of the above circumstances, the crash is a standard 5-second freeze followed by a CTD. No error code is displayed.
- Strangely, creating a race day with exactly 6 repair markers behaves normally in all facets, even after the game is restarted.
I can provide any additional information if needed.
