Vertex color support

Hi,
is it possible to add vertex colors support for the decals ?
I use vertex colors to bake shadows and ambient occlusion directly to object meshes in my project and I would love theese to influence the decals as well.
Tried myself but after spending hours I found out that I am too lame with writing shaders to achieve the vertex color propagation into the decal shader.
The overall lack of tutorials doesnt help and chatGPT seems to be almost as lame as me with shaders :D
