Project Status

Would you consider adding a small section tho the readme that indicates the status of the project as complete, untested-complete, feature development etc.?
I'm personally very interested in merging the benefits of sudo-rs (memory-safety) and opendoas (smaller codebase and less feature bloat), and have been using doas for a couple years now. However, as someone who doesn't personally write rust and isn't familiar with the codebase of opendoas, it's hard for me to tell how usable this project really is in its current state.

If the project is no longer maintained, I would like to try to create my own version of doas written in Rust

@adroslice That's a great suggestion, I will update the README along with other updates I have in the pipeline. As for the current status I consider it very early alpha, it doesn't even have PAM authentication yet, but it does work and is mostly a functional replacement for doas, so you can give it a go.

I actually have made updates internally but I want to polish it a bit more before I push it out.

@nyashbox It's not abandoned, it's just that other things in life have taken a bit of priority over this, but be assured that I intend to make it feature complete and maintain it as long as I can.

You are of course welcome to come up with your own version or even fork this one and make improvements.

P.S. I am a bit curious, how did either of you find this project? I haven't done any promotions recently so it would be nice to know where this is visible organically :)

I have already finished working on that part, perhaps you can help with implementing the mock sudo interface, or anything else that you'd like to work on, be in touch.
