What is your question?

Is there a design or technical reason why Courseplay allows draper/grain headers to reverse slightly and create small pockets or notches for unloading, but corn headers (row crops) refuse to do the same behavior?

In real-world corn harvest, operators will often stop near full, back up slightly and cut a small pocket (like drapers) and stop Courseplay appears to support a similar behavior with draper headers but enforces stricter forward-only, no-partial-pass logic with corn headers.

I understand that corn headers are row-locked and that maintaining row integrity is important for AI pathing, but I’m curious whether this limitation is:

an intentional design decision to preserve deterministic AI behavior,

a technical limitation of row-crop handling in the GIANTS engine, or

something that could theoretically be relaxed in the future (even in a limited or opt-in way).

I’m not asking for full interior pocket generation for corn — just insight into why the small “reverse notch” behavior that works for drapers is completely blocked for row-crop headers.

Any clarification on the reasoning or constraints behind this would be greatly appreciated or even a work around to combat this. I uploaded all of my settings and two pictures just to show what it does. Thanks for the hard work you guys do!
