Bug Report: Game opens but its only a black screen and frozen?

The game opens in a black screen and its frozen nothing changes i have to force close it in the terminal with (ctrl+c)

What version of the engine are you using?

I tried the github version stable version on releases i also tried to compile it and it did but did not change the result

Raltyro likely meant the GitHub Actions workflow. Since you say you downloaded from the releases page, what version of Codename are you attempting to compile? Does your system support OpenGL, and if not, does it at least support Cairo? Are you following the documentation from the main branch, or the documentation from the release you are compiling? What are your system specifications?

My system supports OpenGL 4.6 latest
My system specs:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8400 (6) @ 4.00 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
16GB of ram dual channel.
i used the latest version released on page 1.0.1
both the release version and the git version (had to compile it did followed the guide fully)

The guide on the main branch does not apply to v1.0.1, because it uses an outdated Haxe version, while the main branch uses a newer Haxe version. You'll need to use the guide provided in your local copy of the README that you received from the v1.0.1 source code.

In that case, what is the Git reference you're compiling from? That is, which branch, commit, etc..

When you have the repository properly cloned (that is, you used the git clone command or a Git UI program), what is the first entry in git log or equivalent for the program?

In that case, you need to install the less pager using your system's package manager. Once you've verified that less is available to use on the command line, then you can rerun git log.

Hm, I'm not familiar with runit in particular, so I'm not sure how that would work.

Considering that you are using a GTX 1050 TI, then that means you are using the original proprietary drivers and not the open kernel modules, nor Nouveau considering you're using nvidia-smi.

Have you perhaps installed the libvlc package, in that case? That provides the library that is responsible for playing cutscenes, which is known to behave quite awkwardly in Codename without it.

If needed, you may also install the dependent vlc package, which is recommended by hxvlc (which is used to interface with libvlc).
